My son makes a big pitched squeak in his throat several times respectively hour. He also turns his head, rolls his eyes, and sticks out his tongue respectively time he does it. It seems he is worse when he is tired, or watching tv or video games. Before he started this, he used to snort similar to clearing his throat incessantly. This stopped as soon as the squeaking starts. I am worried it my be Tourette's syndrome, or some type of epilepsy. Has anybody seen anything close to this? Why is my child making weird and wonderful squeaking noise?
It may be vocal and motor tics. I doubt it's epilepsy. Tics are associated next to other conditions besides Tourette's, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder and even autism. Speak to his doctor about it by phone. The doctor may choice to see him in personage and witness this firsthand. The doctor may make a referral to Mental Health services for an evaluation.
In the meantime do not draw attention to his behavior and don't consent to others do that either. Do not try to "correct" it. And try not to verbs. Easier said than done, I know. I've been through this.
My brother does this. Its a mild baggage of Turret's. It gets worse when you are trying to relax instead of concentrating. Take your son to a neurologist
I AM NOT SURE BUT IT MAY NOT BE AN EPILEPSY.I THINK IT MAY BE DUE TO TONSILS .TAKE YOUR SON TO A ENT SPECIALIST
I don`t know its tourettes syndrome because a few of the symptoms youve described resemble this disorder, does your son utter curse words? this too is another sign.have you taken him to a pediactric specialist that deal with this?do so ASAP.
How frail is your son, and is he changing colors or have difficulty breathing?
