Would putting twice the amount of cream, produce twice the effect (SPF, cortizone, DEET,etc.)?

So if I have SPF 15 sunscreen and put twice the conventional amount on my skin, would it have the effect of SPF 30? What in the order of hydrocortizon creams? If I put 2.5 times as much of 1%, would it give me 2.5 times the effect (equating to the prescription strength)? How roughly insect repellant? I always considered necessary to know this, but didn't know whom to ask... Serious answers only, please. Thank you.Would putting twice the amount of cream, produce twice the effect (SPF, cortizone, DEET,etc.)?
No, it will not tender you twice the normal protection. Think give or take a few it this way, if you enjoy a whole apple and you cut it into smaller peices, it doesn't issue how many peices you enjoy it is still only one apple. So it doesn' issue how much you put on your skin it will still be the same amount as SPF 15 or hydrocortizon creams or for insect repellant strength explicitly on the bottle.
Hope this helps!!
No. In reality, with topical steroids (such as hydrocortisone creams), using more than recommended can certainly cause make worse to your skin. It's important to use adjectives products, topical or otherwise, as directed.
