it filters your blood. one tube pumps it out of one arm through a piece of equipment that does its thing to the blood next it returns through aother tube intoyour arm. kinda weard but not painfull.

What happen is you are hooked up to tubes. One draines the blood from you system and puts it through a machine that filter out all the discouraging stuff that your body is having trouble removing, consequently the blood returns to your body through another tube.
