Why does my freestyle glucose meter maintain giving me different reading?

i mean thoroughly off reading! one min. it will be 94 then 30 second later it be 239? I just complained to abbott two days ago and they sent me tentative monitor and strips yet it is doing indistinguishable thing. Could i be doing something wrong? Why does my freestyle glucose meter maintain giving me different reading?
Technique is remarkably important when using a fingerstick device. Tissue and other elements can dilute or concentrate the blood and grant very different results.
Try using a bigger lancet and don't try to "milk" the blood from your finger. You really call for a free flowing drop to test.
Also, try wipe the first drop off and use the second drop that comes out, you should see more consistent results.
Good luck and God bless
You may not be coding the contrivance correctly. Your test strips should enjoy a number on the vial that they come in. Use the C button on the apparatus to change the code number to the correct number. Also, be sure that your finger is completely dry (no moved out over water or alcohol on it). If your finger is still damp when you poke it and use the blood on the test strip, you will dilute the preview. Alot of people don't realize this.
Chances are you are doing something wrong, but it's well fixable with a moment or two trouble shooting. If all else fail, try the One Touch Ultra 2 or any on the One Touch products by Lifescan- if Lifescan is a product that is preferred by your insurance, you can receive a free machine and your exam strips will be covered at a minimum copay- hopefully.
Good luck, you'll get it!
